Technology for health beyond the clinic
From single moments to lasting health.
Constant care · Longer, healthier, happier lives
One year · 8,760 hours

A few hours a year with a doctor. Health happens in the other 8,000.

That's where the real work is: remote care, rehab, monitoring, and helping patients and clinics stay in touch.

The problem

Healthcare data lives in pieces.

Every visit gets its own system. Every provider keeps its own record. Every problem gets its own tool. None of that is simple, and pretending otherwise doesn't help. The job is to connect the pieces so care carries on between visits.

Where the opportunity is

Three places where software can really help.

01

Health beyond the clinic

Most of health happens at home, at work, on the move. That's the time worth building for: remote care, rehab, monitoring, and keeping in touch with patients between appointments.

02

Connecting fragmented care

Patients have appointments in one place, records in another, therapy in a third. Clinics have the same problem behind the scenes: scheduling, staff, rooms and equipment, all in different systems.

03

AI that takes work off people's plates

AI shouldn't replace doctors or make clinical calls. It should handle the admin nobody wants to do, and turn complicated information into something people understand.

AI in healthcare

The question shouldn't be “Is AI being used?” It should be “What is AI actually allowed to do?”

Where AI helps people instead of replacing them
  • →Helping a patient understand a medical report · Meddox
  • →Navigating complex health-plan information · Coverage Compass
  • →Coordinating appointments across doctors, rooms and equipment · Expedoc

In all three, AI explains and organizes. It doesn't diagnose, and it doesn't make the final call.

Where the bar has to stay high

If AI diagnoses, recommends a treatment or shapes a clinical decision, it needs serious testing, transparency, human oversight and someone clearly accountable.

Regulation should match what AI actually does. Strict where patient safety is on the line. Simpler for lower-risk tools. And a safe way to test in real clinics before anything scales.

About Burra

A software engineering group for complex products.

Burra Group builds and improves digital products for other companies. Healthcare is one of the places where that work gets most complicated.

A lot of healthcare tech still works in silos. One system for appointments, another for patient data, another for messages, and people doing manual work in between.

Connect

Get your systems, data and workflows talking to each other.

Modernise

Take a product that's showing its age and bring it up to what patients and staff expect now.

Build

Design and build new products that make care easier for patients and the people treating them.

Constant care. Longer, healthier, happier lives.

Let's talk about what you're building.
